SINGAPORE, 3 DECEMBER 2009—As part of its digital campaign in Asia Pacific, CNN has unveiled its live banner for the online audience.

Delivering real-time news that engages the user, the banner can be viewed on websites of key regional Web publishers in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia and Singapore.

These websites include Yahoo, MSN, LinkedIn, South China Morning Post, The Straits Times, Malaysiakini and Business Times.

The content of the live banner is updated by displaying the top three headlines that appear on the homepage of CNN.com. To read the full story, users can click on the live banner, which will then take them to CNN.com.

Stories can be shared through e-mail or posted on the user’s walls in social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

The live banner was developed by CNN Asia Pacific marketing and creative teams in cooperation with Mumbai-based Pinstorm, a multinational digital marketing agency.

Eslinda Hamzah, senior vice president of broadcast and commercial sales, and marketing and affiliate relations, said the live banner “stands out from the usual advertising clutter”.

As I exited the multiplex, I was wondering if we and our physical world, the universe, are really parts of a maya jaal, the Hindu concept of a web of illusion, a mere dream inside the head of God.
