HONG KONG, 9 FEBRUARY 2009 – The Hong Kong Jockey Club last week launched a multi-function Web portal, providing information on horse racing, soccer and the Mark Six lottery.

The service, called myHKJC, is now available to all betting account holders of The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), currently the only authorised horse racing operator in Hong Kong.

myHKJC users can build personal Web pages with a variety of features that can be customised and horse racing modules. As an example, racing fans can, through ‘smart charts’, access up-to-date information on more than 1,000 horses residing at the club, as well as jockeys and trainers.

These smart charts offer horse statistics including draw records, and horse and jockey winning records, which help customers easily identify the horses with advantages.

“We worked in close partnership with the business throughout the innovation process,” said Sunny Lee, executive director, information technology of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. “The new personalised portal is powered by advanced information technology applications and infrastructure that aim to take our customer experience and convenience to a new level.”

In-depth racing information

myHKJC provides users the convenience of obtaining a variety of horse tips in a consolidated content module, where they can review the horses analysis, forecast running positions of individual horses, statistics-based tips, and recommended horses.

Users can review memorable racing moments with photos and clips in their ‘photo album’. By activating e-alerts, racing fans can receive e-mail reminders of their favourite horses, trainers and jockeys once available.

In addition, well-known figures in racing will share their views and experiences with users through ‘celebrities blogs’ in myHKJC.

The new myHKJC service is available for free to all betting account holders.

Cinema and Technology: Up in the Air (2009)

I wanted to watch this movie because I read a blog that said: don’t let your boss watch "Up in the Air"? Why? I wanted to find out.
