KUALA LUMPUR, 8 NOVEMBER 2009 – Technology firm HP Malaysia has appointed Bernard Chiang as the general manager of its imaging and printing group (IPG) in Malaysia with effect from 2 November 2009.
HP IPG Southeast Asia vice president, Margaret Ong, said Chiang was previously ASEAN general manager for the enterprise business of phone equipment maker Nortel Networks Malaysia, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year in North America.
“In his position, Bernard will be responsible for IPG sales, marketing, consumer support and category management activities in Malaysia,” said Ong.
“Bernard brings with him more than 20 years of experience in leading technology companies such as IBM, Lenovo, Microsoft and Nortel Networks, covering a variety of businesses, including PCs, software, IT financing and networking solutions,” she said.
“The combination of Bernard’s extensive technology experience and breadth of experience makes him a valuable addition to the HP Malaysia team,” added Ong. “He will be instrumental in driving growth as HP continues to provide customers in Malaysia with a breadth of imaging and printing solutions.”
