KUALA LUMPUR, 10 MARCH 2009 -- Korean food manufacturer Dongsuh Foods says that it has dramatically increased productivity and operational efficiencies across its global WAN by 12 times.
Dongsuh IT manager Won See-Mook says, “By deploying the network firm Juniper Networks’ WXC application acceleration platforms, response times from mission critical business software improved by 12 times, cutting application response times from two minutes to approximately ten seconds.”
“Access to the ERP (enterprise resource planning) system was degraded by congestion due to the distribution of automatic Microsoft Windows updates across the WAN (wide area network) and other network activity,” says Won. “We turned to Juniper Networks, deploying WXC platforms at its corporate office and 38 branch and sales offices nationwide, completing the roll-out in just nine days with the aid of a Web-based installation wizard.”
Dongsuh, established in 1968, has a 70 per cent share of Korea's instant coffee, coffee-mix, coffee creamer and cereal markets. The company uses ERP software to handle all of its key business operations and processes.
Resumed focus on business objectives
"Before we implemented Juniper's acceleration platform, there was a time when a large proportion of our 900 users were unable to access our ERP system at all," said Won. "Although we had fast connectivity to our distributed locations nationwide, some branches were unable to get access due to network congestion.”
“Juniper's WXC ensured fast and consistent application response at all times across the WAN, reducing response times from more than two minutes to under 10 seconds and eliminating downtime for this mission-critical resource,” added Won. “This improvement has greatly boosted productivity, allowing us to resume focus on our business objectives and stay competitive."
