22 Jun 2009

SINGAPORE, 22 JUNE 2009—Customers of HP's Enterprise Storage and Servers (ESS) unit in Asia Pacific and Japan will now see a new vice president and general manager Neal Clapper. Today, Clapper replaces Tony Parkinson, who has moved onto another as yet unnamed assignment within HP. Based in Singapore, and reporting to Balu Doraisamy, senior vice president of the Technology Solutions Group for HP Asia Pacific and Japan, Neal is charged with driving the growth and development of the ESS business in the region. The ESS unit runs HP's business critical systems, industry standard servers, StorageWorks, ESS infrastructure software and blades businesses.

To date, Clapper has had 29 successful years with HP, a period in which she held key global and regional positions for HP's storage, services and software business units, including that of vice president of HP EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) StorageWorks, which was Ichiban in total disk storage, tape and tape automation market share for more than 12 consecutive quarters in row.

"Neal’s track record of accelerating growth and innovation through a sharp focus on customer value will be key to driving our ESS business in Asia Pacific,” said Doraisamy. “We are pleased to have Neal join the HP TSG APJ leadership team."
