KUALA LUMPUR, 14 AUGUST 2009 -- To help Malaysian partners weather the economic downturn, security solutions firm Symantec Malaysia has launched a survive-and-thrive programme.
Symantec director for partners and operations, Asia Pacific and Japan, Chee Keong Law, said the programme included a series of webcasts and learning modules to offer training on addressing critical business challenges and practical guidance to manage cash flow, find and invest capital more efficiently, identify new business opportunities, and drive business growth.
“Business management skills are essential in any economic environment, but their importance is amplified during an economic downturn,” said Law.
“The Survive and Thrive Business Management Series is a part of Symantec’s ongoing commitment and investment in our partners to offer programs and tools that will help them grow their business,” he said.
The business management series runs until November 2009 and is delivered at no charge to Symantec partners over 24 weeks, he said. “It comprises five webcasts and 12 self-paced learning modules. Partners have the flexibility to participate in the webcast on demand or join the scheduled live session.”
In addition, he added that partners can participate in discussions with peers or ask questions through the Survive & Thrive forum.
Real deal promotion
Chee said partner programmes in the Asia Pacific and Japan also aimed to assist channel partners capitalise on the market opportunity for Symantec’s security, storage and systems management solutions. “These include the Real Deal promotion, VMware Alliance Affiliate Program, Symantec University for Partners and Symantec Partner Specialisations.”
“This promotion is a dedicated incentive programme that rewards channel partners for driving incremental and new licence sales for Symantec core products,” he said. “The Real Deal promotion is available to channel partners in the Symantec Partner programme in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, the Philippines and Indonesia. The promotion ends on 31 October 2009.”
“Also, the VMware Alliance Affiliate Programme is designed to provide partners increased opportunity to capitalise on Symantec’s data protection products that support VMware virtualisation,” he said. “A rebate promotion for the VMware Alliance Affiliate programme is currently available for Symantec partners at the platinum, gold, silver corporate reseller and global strategic partner (GSP) level.”
