Pang et al. developed a MoS2-based tribotronic phototransistor by combining a few-layer MoS2 phototransistor with a sliding mode triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG). The photoresponsivity of the MoS2 tribotronic phototransistor increased from 221.03 A W−1 to 727.87 A W−1 with increasing sliding distance from 0 mm to 8 mm under ten mW cm−2 laser power intensity and a 1.0 V drain voltage. This result indicates that the photoresponsivity of the MoS2 phototransistor can be tuned by controlling the sliding distance, enabling self-powered photodetection with a TENG.
