Why is copper oxide good for plants

What is copper oxide?

Copper is a non-ferrous metal. It doesn't contain iron, so it won't turn into rust when exposed to oxygen. Instead, when oxygen molecules land on copper's surface, they combine with copper atoms and form copper oxide. Copper oxide is relatively cheap, easily mixed with polarized liquids (i.e., water) and polymers, and relatively stable in terms of both chemical and physical properties. Hand Protection: Wear if skin contact is probable and skin is sensitive. Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles. Skin Protection: Long sleeve shirt(s) if contact is probable and skin is sensitive. Environmental Protection: Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses. Copper oxide products have been tested in 9 clinical trials and in several non-clinical studies and be non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and safe to use, with not even one adverse reaction recorded, both when in contact with intact and broken skin.

Is copper oxide toxic to plants?

Abstract. Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) are widely used in several products, and their release into the environment can cause toxicity to major food crops. Copper toxicity plants appear stunted, usually bluish, and eventually turn yellow or brown. Toxic copper levels reduce seed germination, plant vigour, and iron intake. Neutralizing copper soil toxicity is extremely difficult once the problem occurs. Copper (Cu) is one of eight essential plant micronutrients. Copper is required for many enzymatic plant activities, chlorophyll, and seed production. A deficiency of copper can lead to increased susceptibility to diseases like ergot, which can cause significant yield loss in small grains. Crops such as beets, carrots, onions, spinach, sunflower, and tomato are high copper-requiring plants sensitive to low soil copper levels. Cereal grains may also show deficiency symptoms in copper-deficient soils. Copper exists as a divalent cation molecule (Cu++) in soils.

Why is copper good for plants?

Copper activates some enzymes in plants involved in lignin synthesis and is essential in several enzyme systems. It is also required in photosynthesis, is essential in plant respiration and assists in plant metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins.

Copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles (NPs) are among the most widely used engineered NPs and are thus likely to end up in the environment, predominantly in sediments. Copper oxide NPs are toxic to various (mainly pelagic) organisms but to differing degrees. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends no more than 0.47 mg of copper per cup (2 mg per litre) of water. This ensures that the tolerable upper intake level of 10 mg daily won't be exceeded ( 11 ).

Price of copper oxide

Copper oxide particle size and purity will affect the product's Price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of Copper oxide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The Price of copper oxide is on our company's official website.
