CoCrMo alloy introduction
CoCrMo alloy (cobalt-chromium molybdenum) is one of the cobalt-base alloys, is also commonly known as a Stellite alloy, is a kind of wear and corrosion resistance of the cobalt-base alloy. The original cobalt base alloy is a cobalt-chromium binary alloy, later developed into a cobalt-chromium tungsten ternary component, and then later the development of cobalt-chromium molybdenum alloy. The cobalt-chromium molybdenum alloy is mainly composed of cobalt and contains a considerable amount of chromium, molybdenum and a small amount of nickel, carbon and other alloying elements, and occasionally also contains alloys such as iron. Depending on the composition of the alloy, they can be made into welding wire, powder for hard surfacing, thermal spraying, spray welding and other processes, as well as cast and forged parts and powder metallurgy parts.
CoCrMo alloy classification
Cobalt and chromium are two basic elements of cobalt-based alloys while adding molybdenum can produce finer grains and higher strength after casting or forging. Cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloys are basically divided into two categories: CoCrMo alloy and CoNiCrMo alloy;
1. The CoCrMo alloy
The first category is CoCrMo alloys, usually cast products; In recent years, the synthetic mechanical properties of deformed cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy products have been greatly improved by technological improvement.
