Singles' Day. Any conversation about eCommerce in China wouldn't be complete without mentioning Singles' Day, one of the largest online shopping days in the world. At $5.75 billion in sales, Tmall and Taobao sales for Singles Day far surpass the total online retail sales in the U.S. on Cyber Monday. The Alibaba Group does what it can to promote shopping on the holiday; this year, for example, they incentivized mobile shoppers with free mobile data to encourage them to buy and browse.
