OK. Now, dear readers, I was there, the Matrix Biopolis Auditorium, on that Saturday (May 31) afternoon-evening when Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam gave the Open Category Award and a giant cheque (the polystyrene, non-cashable variety kind for photoshoots) for S$30,000 to Pic2Pic.
And I dont think I was the only person in that auditorium that was surprised. If any of you reading this were there at the time, please get in touch with me either way:-
You were as surprised as I was. A free touch-up photo service beat out something that could help epileptic kids, and something that could help all of us be more environmentally friendly.
You were not surprised at all. The free touch-up photo service clearly had a better business plan.
BTW: the title of this blog entry is as cynical as it is effective. I put it in to draw your attention to my first posting.
