The Dell Vostro V13s sleek design and brushed aluminium skin makes it a good choice for mobile office workers

With its brushed aluminium casing and sleek design, the Dell Vostro V13 represents a departure from the usual geared-for-SMBs notebook that the series is known for.

Dell Vostro 13The V13 measures 0.65 inch at its thinnest point and weighs about 1.58 kg. It comes with a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display and has a 16:9 aspect ratio. Inside, the notebook has an Intel Celeron M743 1.3-GHz ULV processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 250GB hard drive. There are Bluetooth support, Gigabit Ethernet, ExpressCard slot, multicard reader, VGA-out, and audio jacks.

Likes:

  • The keyboard does not look like a Mac (considering how common Mac-ish keyboards look these days)

  • Keypads that are evenly spaced and there are ample space for palms to rest

  • Brushed surface means no smudges!

Dislikes:

  • No DVD writer

  • Only two USB ports (one doubles as an eSATA port for transferring data between external hard drive)
