Chris Clark is the new group country manager for North Asia for global payments technology company Visa.

This position is effective from 1 April, 2011 and he is based in Hong Kong.

In his new role, Clark is responsible for the business operations, strategy development and management of Visa's businesses in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Mongolia and Taiwan.

Visa connects consumers, businesses, financial institutions and governments in more than 200 countries and territories to fast, secure and reliable digital currency.

Clark is also a member of Visa's Operating Committee.

Consistent performance

Clark has worked with Visa for a considerable time and was formerly general manager for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific.

He worked in this position since May 2008 and during this period he successfully grew the company's core processing business, managed key client relationships and oversaw the rollout of new payment innovations in areas such as chip, contactless and debit.

"Chris has consistently delivered strong volume and net revenue growth wherever he has been positioned," said Elizabeth Buse, Visa's group president, Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"In addition, he has built a well-deserved reputation throughout the organisation for his personal emphasis on talent management and people development. I believe his leadership and experience will bring tremendous value to our North Asia markets and help us deliver on our business goals."
