Hiang Choong to lead MasterCard’s business in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan

He was formerly the Chief of Staff to the CEO of MasterCard based in New York.

MasterCard has appointed Hiang Choong as its Division President for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Based in Hong Kong, Choong will oversee MasterCard's strategy, business development, acceptance expansion, operations, marketing, and product introductions to ensure the company's growth and expansion in those three markets.

Choong was formerly the Chief of Staff to the CEO of MasterCard based in New York. A lawyer by training, he has held various leadership roles within the company including Head of Legal for MasterCard's Asia/Pacific and Middle East & Africa regions. In that role, he led a team that provided comprehensive legal, regulatory, public policy and compliance support across both regions.

Prior to joining MasterCard, Choong was once the General Counsel for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting East Asia, and IBM.
