Cinemacraft eyes mobile device market for media broadcasting cloud services.

A new technology start-up has named a top executive that will help lead the company to achieve its goal of offering interactive media cloud services for the mobile market.

Asia-based Cinemacraft is expecting Ashok Srinath, new vice president for engineering, to manage the development and testing efforts for its cloud-based interactive mobile video encoding, storage and streaming solution.

Bangalore and US-educated Srinath will be based in Singapore where Cinemacraft wants to grow its venture into cloud computing and mobile technology.

Cinemacraft's flagship product is an interactive media broadcast cloud for rich media distribution. The company wants to offer its patented compression and streaming format technologies to the market at a time when they see a growing demand for mobile TV and IPTV.

Together with Cinemacraft's HTML-compliant client player, the technologies provide a single solution that can stream both live and on-demand quality video to any mobile device on any network. The solution currently supports more than 70 GPRS mobile devices and over 200 3G mobile devices including Apple iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry devices.

Sandeep Casi, founder & CEO, Cinemacraft, said Srinath will be part of the company's "new phase in ... growth".

"We are confident that Ashok's exceptional managerial and technical skills will help us further streamline our technology, helping the industry realise the full potential of mobile technology," said Casi.

"I'm very excited to be a part of this dynamic team, working on a solution that combines two of the major emerging technologies in the market today. Cinemacraft has successfully combined cloud computing and mobile technology with a goal of enabling every mobile device to be transformed into a television. I look forward to helping further develop this platform and am delighted to be included in Cinemacraft's journey to success," said Srinath.

Cinemacraft also has offices in Bangalore, India and Tokyo, Japan.
