95 percent of senior IT leaders in China and 68 percent in Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region already have an enterprise mobility strategy or plan to implement one within a year, according to a newly released global TechInsights Report.
Organizations have experienced 18 to 24 percent improvement in business through successful mobility initiatives. In addition to increased business revenue, companies have recorded better employee productivity and lower costs with these initiatives.
The CA Technologies-sponsored study of 1,300 senior IT leaders shows that in Japan, organizations recorded a 41 percent increase in customers and Indian firms reported a 31 percent increase in employee productivity.
Although adoption of mobility has increased, 31 percent and 42 percent of organizations in APJ and Australia feel they could do more with mobility.
"Today, CIOs are under enormous pressures to address the rapid pace of technology change and evolution. Mobility has dramatically elevated the complexity of what is needed both for internal users and customer-facing systems," said Vic Mankotia, vice president, Solution Strategy, APJ, CA Technologies.
Security and privacy concerns
49 percent of the respondents in China and 15 percent in South Korea are concerned about security and privacy of devices.
38 percent of APJ organizations redesigned their security strategy and policies and 37 percent changed the structure of the organization as well as re-aligned roles and responsibilities.
"The potential of not complying with key regulations, inadvertent dissemination of corporate information, or negatively impacting brand reputation because of a poor mobile application shopping experience, are just a few examples of risks faced by organizations that do not have an enterprise-wide mobility strategy," added Mankotia.
89 percent of APJ organizations have already achieved or expect to achieve an increase in customer satisfaction through enterprise mobility. 88 percent have already acquired, or expect, more customers using their software and services.
71 percent of respondents selected mobile apps for customers or employees as their number one priority. 38 percent prioritize internal BYOD and managing employee devices.
