Network security company, Fortinet, has named Ahmed Rubaie as its new chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
Most recently, Rubaie served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of business-to-business commerce company, Ariba Inc.
During his four and a half years appointment at Ariba, he has increased the company's value from approximately US$400 million to over US$4 billion when it was acquired by SAP in October 2012.
Ken Xie, founder and chief executive of Fortinet, said Ahmed Rubaie's global experience and proven track record of delivering results as a finance and operational leader in technology and multiple other sectors will help achieve their long-term goal of more than $1 billion in annual sales.
"I believe there is tremendous opportunity for me to leverage my financial and operational executive leadership experience to help the company deliver world-class execution and achieve its short and long-term growth targets," Rubaie said in a statement yesterday.
Prior to Ariba, Rubaie worked at Avery Dennison, BHP Billiton, Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte & Touche.
He holds a J.D. degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and a B.A. in Economics and Management from Albion College.
