Noida, India-headquartered global IT services company HCL Technologies (HCL) has reported revenues reaching US$1.02 billion, up 3.7 percent sequentially and 18.7 percent year-on-year (YoY), in constant currency in the second quarter of FY 2012.
HCL announced on Thursday (19 Jan) results for the quarter ended 31 December 2011.
HCL's Rest Of the World (ROW) region recorded even better growth, of 4.9 percent YoY. On a calendar year (CY) 11 vs CY 10, the company said in an announcement, the region posted a revenue growth of 49.5 percent YoY.
"We continue to invest in increasing our competitiveness in the region and creating differentiated solutions around emerging technologies," said Virender Aggarwal, president - Asia, Africa and Middle East, HCL Technologies. "This focus along with our continued emphasis on building client intimacy has been the cornerstone of our journey this quarter."
One of the major deals in the Asia Pacific region in the second quarter for HCL included a deal with a leading company in the office automation space in Japan for providing User Documentation Services in multiple languages. The company also said that it has been selected by a leading chemical product manufacturer in Japan for SAP development and rollout.
On the human resources front, HCL's gross employee addition of 7,804 during the quarter took its total headcount to 83,076.
