The Google Pixel 6A leak reveals that pixel 6 is similar to a Pixel 3 camera

The fall rush of product launches may have slowed, but now we're looking ahead to next year. According to 9to5Google, a new Pixel 6 May join the lineup. A leaked Pixel 6A specification sheet shows what the mid-range phone can do, and while it looks like the Pixel 6A will look like its more expensive sibling and run on Google's custom tensor spaceship, it may come packaged on the Pixel 3's outdated camera hardware.
Earlier this week, leaked Pixel 6A renderings showed that the upcoming phone has a similar design to other phones in the series. The 6A is rectangular and contains the Pixel 6's signature sharp corners. There is also a black camera bar on the back with several lenses and a flash.
However, the camera's internal hardware is not the latest and greatest. The Pixel 6A can use the SONY IMX363 sensor, the same sensor used in every version of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 5A. That means the 6A doesn't offer the same camera performance as the Pixel 6, which has a much larger image sensor that can capture so much light.
But Google has proven it can work wonders with camera software, and the fact that the Pixel 6A May have a tensor chip inside bodes well for its capabilities. The Tensor Processing Unit, or TPU, drives all the machine learning intelligence in the Pixel phone. While the camera won't match the performance of the top-of-the-line Pixel 6 Pro, for example, it's likely to be nearly as good as the previous A-series pixels -- and their mid-price point is impressive.
Google can also use the Pixel 6A to drive language processing power on its devices, which is enabled by the TPU chip. I think there may have been a mention that Google Photos can do all sorts of things thanks to hardware assist, like a magic eraser, this technology works for other pixel devices if you copy a specific APK Google Photos but rely on the TPU chip to perform its replacement processing.
Perhaps the most exciting part about the Pixel 6A, including the Google chip, is that the company can offer extended support for software updates -- even longer than the three years offered by past devices. Google has promised the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be supported with up to five years of software updates, which are made possible by domestic chips. Imagine a phone that costs $400 (the historical price of a series of phones when they were released) for 5 years of use.
That said: Even if the rumored specs aren't set in stone, it sounds like Google's cheapest smartphone might get a meaningful upgrade -- even if the camera isn't as good as we'd hoped.
