MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 18 APRIL 2011 – A Microsoft partner is offering enterprise resource planning (ERP) on the cloud delivered on Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Accenture-backed Avanade claims it is the first Microsoft partner to offer a fully managed ERP solution on the cloud using the Microsoft ERP platform. And the company said this offering is being made globally.
Dynamics AX is Microsoft’s ERP software solution designed for mid-sized and larger organisations.
The target for Avanade’s new service are customers needing a completely managed ERP solution that can be customised for flexibility.
“In today’s fast-paced economic climate, companies need the agility to quickly scale to meet changing business requirements while also reducing costs,” said Bernd Weidenmueller, vice president, Dynamics AX for Global Technologies and Solutions, Avanade. “Avanade Cloud ERP meets these needs by helping lower risks, minimise costs and reduce maintenance hassles.”
Customers in the Asia Pacific region, in particular, need solutions where upfront investments are kept to a minimum and then scale as the company grows, explained Craig Dower, president, Avanade Asia Pacific.
“We look forward to working closely with customers in the region to help them realise business value through the deployment of the Avanade Cloud ERP solution,” Dower added.
The service comes with user support, application management, pre-production and production support and system maintenance services. With Avanade’s support services, the customer’s performance is monitored regularly to anticipate any issues that may arise.
Jens Butler, principal analyst – IT services, Ovum, said the announcement is significant as it expands ERP offerings on the cloud, competing with SAP and Oracle.
Avanade was founded in 2000 by Accenture and Microsoft but is majority-owned by Accenture.
