The world’s largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft Boeing has signed a new 10-year agreement to extend the use of Siemens PLM Software technology at its Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Defense Space and Security facilities, citing the “proven performance of [Siemens PLM Software’s] market leading NX software and Teamcenter software, innovation, scalability and open architecture” as “key requirements” for the extension deal.
NX’s capabilities cover: industrial design and styling; package, mechanical, electromechanical system, and tooling and fixture design and simulation; visual reporting and analytics; machining; engineering process management; and, inspection programming. Teamcenter’s cover the management of: Bills of Materials; compliance; content and documents; engineering processes; formulas, packaging and branding; manufacturing processes; mechatronics processes; portfolios, programmes and projects; simulation processes; supplier relationships; and, systems engineering and requirements. It also enables creation, control and administration of platforms and tools for: community collaboration; enterprise knowledge exchanges; lifecycle visualisation; maintenance, repair and overhaul; platform extensibility services; and, reporting and analytics.
