Extrahop expands its presence in APAC

Nurdianah Md Nur | Jan. 20, 2016
The company does so by opening a Singapore office which is led by Danny Smolders.

Extrahop — a global real-time stream analytics for IT operations and business intelligence provider — recently opened an office in Singapore as part of its expansion plans.

Danny Smolders will be leading the company's operations in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region as the Vice President of APAC, following his successful tenure as the Director of Sales for APAC at Riverbed.

Since securing a US$41 million Series C funding in May 2014, ExtraHop has demonstrated strong and consistent growth in North America and Europe. During that time, the company has expanded in Canada and the United Kingdom and opened operations in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The company has also doubled in size in 2015 to more than 320 employees worldwide.

Over the next 12 months, the company expects its APAC operations to grow exponentially in a handful of key geographies.

"As enterprises in the region increasingly explore the efficiencies of cloud, virtualisation, and software-defined data centres, they are seeking solutions that can deliver the visibility they need to manage and maximise the value of these complex and dynamic environments. The ExtraHop platform delivers not only that visibility, but also the analytics that transform insight into ROI," said Smolders.

Jesse Rothstein, CEO, ExtraHop said: "Expansion into APAC underscores the strong growth the company has seen over the past 18 months. The market opportunity is strong and growing, and demand for our platform has already forged a path to important channel partnerships in the region. We look forward to helping organisations maximise the value of IT, and deliver meaningful insight for technology and business operations."

Organisations that are currently using ExtraHop stream analytics include Lockheed Martin, Sony Network Entertainment International, Toshiba and Adobe.
