"Audio-video-data conferencing is possible from voice-to-video or to and from any other media during the conversation in a seamless way," Dumortier said. "Session-shifting is transparent. This helps travelling professionals to select the most efficient and economic connectivity option."
"This solution is an evolution of the company's research," he said. "OpenTouch rests on converged architecture - on SIP [session initiation protocol] servers and media servers. The solution is 'open' and will work on other PBX [private branch exchange] architecture, SIP phones, Apple iOS, BlackBerry, Windows, TDM [time-division multiplexing] and Android. The conversation layer manages individuals: an example may be the handling of a customer issue, and rapidly building an ad hoc business community of experts through the OpenTouch suite."
Dumortier said that the solution is managed through a single management platform called OmniVista, and would be available in different packages to suit different numbers of users in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Lee added that the Malaysian customers have been looking forward to this new platform, especially in the healthcare, education, logistics and local telecommunications sectors. "Professionals in this country have expressed the need for more sophisticated ways of working. It is today's way of working and organisations of all sizes, for example, a consulting house would find OpenTouch extremely productive as well as an excellent way to break through communication or work silos."
