How different is the Asian software testing market from the US and European markets?
Asia has been a relatively late adopter, but is catching up real quick.
One key feature of this market has been the extent of localisation that is required to test, vis-à-vis markets of US and Europe on a relative basis. So for example, chances are that given the same project scope, and application complexity, the extent of localisation that one needs to factor into the testing strategy in, say, one Nordic country vis-à-vis another, may be less than, say, a site in Jakarta versus Kuala Lumpur.
The other interesting thing about testing in Asia is the significant involvement of business users, who are passionately driving the cause, unlike what we saw in the US and Europe where it has been traditionally a testing community driven approach.
