Large to mid-sized IT organisations can now have a view of their current and future VMware infrastructure within Microsoft System Center 2012 with Veeam Management Pack (MP) v6.
Launched today, Veeam MP v6 is a product by Veeam Software, a provider of backup, replication and virtualisation management solution for Windows Server Hyper-V and VMware.
Veeam MP extends System Center to:
- Allow companies to have a deep visibility to the VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines, VMware vSphere and the resources on which they run;
- Plan effectively for future capacity needs;
- Solve problems faster to meet service level requirements and,
- Achieve continuous improvement in data centre efficiency.
With the aim of enabling companies to better forecast and plan capabilities to manage VMware environments, the updated Veeam MP v6 provides reports that alert companies of potential capacity issues before they cause problems.
Reports include capacity planning reports for VMware on host failure modelling, performance forecasts for datastores, performance forecasts for vSphere clusters and VM capacity prediction.
Companies can also see how specific changes to their virtual infrastructure will affect the performance with the what-if modelling by Veeam MP v6.
"The new features within Veeam MP v6 allow us to find the root cause of issues even faster than before, which reduces our time to resolution. The new Capacity Planning feature allows our operators to be more pro-active and efficient at problem resolution. The visibility of both the physical and virtual components in one place gives us a holistic overview of our environment. Without doubt the Veeam MP is the best monitoring tool for VMware virtual environments on the market and has helped us to grow our business to new heights," said Derek Hennessy, senior consultant, BEarena.
Veeam MP v6 supports Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Microsoft System Center 2012 SP1, and VMware vSphere 5.1.
