Zalora has selected SAP's S/4HANA business suite to digitalise and streamline its accounting operations.
The suite will automate the online retailer's accounting processes and provides users with real-time data from internal and external sources, enabling them to make quicker decisions. It will also allow the retailer to handle high volume orders during peak sales period.
"To support our continued growth, we needed a platform capable of automating and streamlining existing processes and the capacity for large scale expansion," said Parker Gundersen, Zalora's group CEO. "SAP's S/4HANA fulfilled our objectives of visibility, compliance, automation, productivity and sustainability."
In the past, employees had to manually key in details such as revenue and product costs, which were computed separately from the accounting system. Without an integrated solution, the data report was often presented in silos with no flows between other key systems. This resulted in lack of real-time data which were crucial to operations and planning.
Zalora thus hopes SAP S/4HANA will improve its employee productivity by enabling them to gain insight and address issues with regards to merchandising, supply chain, finance and compliance through a single platform.
It will leverage IBM's expertise to migrate its systems to the SAP suite.
