Tech Mahindra has strengthened its presence in Malaysia with the opening in Cyberjaya of Asia's first Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Google Technologies for IT experts across the region, said the Indian IT services giant.

Tech Mahindra (Enterprise) head for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa, Rohit Gandhi said the CoE at Tech Mahindra's Global Solution Centre in Cyberjaya offered fast track digital transformation for enterprises in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region.

Gandhi said "the CoE will be the hub for innovation within the region and will focus on nurturing and building solutions with the best combination of products and technologies."

This move was also part of the company's collaboration with Google to foster the digital transformation of regional businesses with the use of Google products, technologies and solutions, he said.

The display at the CoE included Google Apps for Work, Google Maps for Work, Google Search for Work and Google Cloud Platform. In addition, businesses and technology experts will be able to see some of the industry solutions that Tech Mahindra has developed on top of Google's products, added Gandhi.

For example end-to-end Supply Chain Visibility and Connected Healthcare, he said. "Malaysian customers can leverage the offerings from the CoE ranging from consulting, solution architecture, custom implementations and multi-technology integration."

 Positive steps in Malaysia

"Tech Mahindra has further strengthened its presence in Malaysia with the inauguration of this CoE," said Gandhi, "This move will bring industry-specific solutions that enable enterprises to accelerate their transformation journey by leveraging best-in-class technologies."

"It marks a significant step strengthening our partnership with Google and our synergy brings unique offerings that bundles the future products and solutions for today's businesses," he said, adding that Tech Mahindra was one of the first major Indian IT solutions companies to establish a presence in Malaysia.

The company has a 1,100+ seat facility in Malaysia, serving more than 20 regional and global customers, across various verticals including BFSI, Telecom, Retail & CPG, Manufacturing and Energy, said Gandhi. The company was recently featured in Forbes Asia's Fab 50 companies and won the Partner Appreciation Award from the national ICT agency Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in Malaysia.

Kevin Akhurst, Director, Google for Work Asia Pacific, said, "Tech Mahindra's new Centre for Excellence will give businesses a central place to see the kinds of technology solutions that can be developed for their business, and will train technology experts so they can share this knowledge and skills with more businesses across the Asia Pacific region."
