Singapore hosts its first blogshop fashion show

Blogshopping is now the preferred way of shopping for women in Singapore between the ages of 18 and 25.

Singapore had its first blogshop fashion show hosted by, Singapore's largest female online portal, predominantly used for shopping. notes Blogshopping to have become the preferred way of shopping for women in Singapore between the ages of 18 and 25.

This event was hosted on Friday 11 November 2011 and was attended by more than  

200 guests including top bloggers, blogshop owners, local celebrities, online business executives and the media.

A large number of blogshops showcased clothes and accessories in the fashion show including DressaBelle, My Glamour Place, Momoteapot, Wonderstellar, FashPash, and Rashonal.

Attendees of the event were also entertained by DreamWerks, a dance group created by students at Singapore Institute of Management. About 70 members from this group staged a show to promote blogshopping in Singapore.

Although window shipping is still attractive, consumers have begun to prefer the high discounts and ease of shopping on the Web.

Apparently recognises this and thus hosts more than 5,000 active blogshops in Singapore. The company claims its site has more than one million visitors and over 30 million page views each month.

"Blogshopping enables budding designers and fashionistas to design and sell their creations online at little or no costs," said Roshni Mahtani, CEO of Tickled Media, the publishing house running LiveJournal in Asia. "It also takes very little time to set up a blogshop. The owner of one of our blogshops,, shared that she set it up in less than two hours including the time taken for photo shoots of the various products."
