"A lot of companies think they can buy business intelligence systems and say, 'There, I have one.' It doesn't work that way, companies need to customise and tailor the system to their own individual business models."
Kam added that companies concentrate so much on software that they forget about 'man-ware'. "We just don't have the manpower to work with these systems."
Time needs to be spent training and fitting the system to the company. Working on company culture is also a factor says Kam, in order for the system to gain traction.
In closing, Kam concluded that analytics systems need to be useable and made effective to allow end-users to benefit and reap the rewards from social network analysis.
