Avaya launches Open SDN Fx architecture

Vendor says it enables “connect anything, anywhere” simplicity for devices on the user edge.

Avaya has launched its Open SDN Fx architecture for enterprise networks  with the claim it enables "connect anything , anywhere"  simplicity by delivering automation and programmability  from the network core to the user edge.

A press statement by the Santa Clara, California-based provider of communications solutions said the Avaya Open SDN Fx  architecture is based on the Avaya Fabric Networking technology.

As such, it allows devices of users  at the network edge to be added easily to the network.

The press statement said among its new products and features are an Open Networking Adapter for plug-and-play network connection, Fabric Orchestration for management and orchestration of the Ethernet Fabric and Fabric Fx that enables extensibility of Fabric Networking across any IP-based network without loss of functionality.

"The Avaya SDn FX architecture can support a wide range of use cases," said the press statement.
