Brocade has opened a new Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) in Shanghai, China, to provide technical services and support to Mandarin-speaking customers across the Greater China region and globally, the networking company announced today.

It also augments the TAC in Chennai, India, in the delivery of Brocade's comprehensive technical services and support to customers and partners across Asia Pacific (APAC), the company said in a statement.

Brocade has committed a significant investment to operating the China TAC annually, and providing full Level 1 and Level 2 support services on all Brocade products in Mandarin. The centre is composed of a strong team of technical support engineers.

"The launch of our China TAC in Shanghai complements our ongoing commitment in meeting the evolving needs of our customers and partners in APAC," said Charlie Foo, Brocade Vice President for APAC.

"Brocade has been instrumental in implementing, upgrading and consolidating our SAN network at our data center in Shanghai," said Wang Xin, Storage Division Manager, Ping An Storage & Infrastructure team. This is one of the regional customers which has benefited from the China TAC. "The team of highly skilled engineers even went the extra mile to roll out optical routing between our data centers in Shanghai and Shenzhen, which allows for data sharing between separate SAN networks. We are impressed by the timely and professional support afforded to us by Brocade, which is essential to the efficient and reliable operation of our network."
