Guest Article: Tackling network security with standards

Martin Creaner | Sept. 19, 2012
Industry standards and best practices can and must play a major role in network security.

Indeed, industry collaboration plays a significant role as technology continues to evolve, and new challenges emerge. Service providers should work closely with governments to clarify their responsibilities in areas such as anti-terrorism and data security, and collaborate with suppliers and partners to tackle privacy and security issues in new service areas such as cloud security and mobile apps. After all, as service providers move towards investing in better security capabilities, they also need to look into industry-wide policies and standards that will help them in managing their business and associated assets.
