A new wireless network provider has made Singapore its Asia Pacific headquarters to be headed by a general manager.
UK-based PowerOasis, which offers wireless network power management solutions, has named William 'Bill' Wallace GM of the new office that signifies the strengthening of the company's presence in the region.
Wallace is a 15-year-old telecommunications veteran who is tasked to lead the regional team as it tries to address what it says is a "strong demand" for its wireless network power management solutions.
PowerOasis' wireless network power management solutions can reduce network power costs, increase site availability while delivering power-related business intelligence.
Among its target customers in the region are mobile network operators, managed services providers and tower operating companies.
Wallace said its target clients in the region are in a tight competitive market and need wireless network power solutions that can increase power availability at reduced power costs.
John O'Donohue, chief executive officer, PowerOasis, said the regional office in Singapore will support its clients in the region, including a Southeast Asia operator for which PowerOasis recently installed its 200-site hybrid power solution.
O'Donohue said the operator is now enjoying fuel savings, reduced site visits, fewer power-related troubles and improved supply chain management after it has installed the PowerOasis solutions.
"The power and hardware agnostic nature of our solutions means that we can rapidly deploy and deliver power cost savings for any site configuration in mixed vendor networks," said O'Donohue. "By adding advanced remote power management and strong analytical business forecasting capabilities, we are bringing exceptional levels of operational and financial control to the management of network power."
