ASUS will now embed the Trend Micro Smart Home Network solutions suite into its wireless routers for the home, according to a press statement by the Tokyo-based developer of network security applications.
The press statement said the development is the result of its recent agreement with the Taipei-based developer of hardware and networking equipment.
It explained the suite is Trend Micro Inc.'s latest application whose Internet features include security, quality of service (QoS) and parental control over content access.
End of 2014
Implementation of this development by ASUS will be fully complete by end 2014, according to the press statement.
But even last August, the solutions suite had already been embedded into the ASUS RT-AC87U, which the vendor launched in that month.
Other routers slated for implementation are the ASUS RT-AC56U and RT-AC68U, as well as additional and existing models.
The press statement said the suite has a three-stage-prevention, protection and mitigation-approach for smart devices linked to home networks with ASUS routers.
On the other hand, its QoS features intelligently prioritize Internet traffic by identifying more than 800 Internet applications, as well as 1000 different Internet-capable devices across 25 hardware categories.
At the same time, parental control functions enable mothers, fathers and guardians to filter content access to inappropriate Internet applications and Websites.
