The times, they are a-changin'. Specifically, the dates and times for 2014's Macworld/iWorld conference.
Next year's Macworld/iWorld expo will now take place March 27 through March 29, 2014. It had previously been scheduled for the first three days of February. The rescheduled event will move from Moscone West to Moscone North in San Francisco, as well.
(The annual Macworld/iWorld conference is produced by IDG World Expo, which shares a corporate parent with Macworld, the publication you're reading right now.)
IDG World Expo tells Macworld that the 2013 Macworld/iWorld event was highly successful, and that exhibitor rebooking for next year is at its highest level since 2009.
By moving the conference to late March 2014, IDG World Expo will make life easier on exhibitors and attendees alike: It avoids overlap with the 2014 Super Bowl, to be played on February 2, and gets a little more distance from the holidays, winter travel, and the annual CES conference in early January. The rescheduled dates also keep consistent the conference's recent Thursday/Friday/Saturday schedule; the initially planned February dates would have spanned a Saturday through Monday.
Macworld/iWorld will formally announce the date change on Tuesday.
