KUALA LUMPUR, 14 JULY 2008 - Software giant Microsoft's largest annual conference, Tech.Ed Southeast Asia 2008, to be held from August 11-14 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, has secured support from two Malaysian government agencies, HRDC (Human Resource Development Council) and MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation).

According to the company, this means there will be financial benefits for attendees, as well as participating Tech.Ed exhibitors, who will be eligible to apply for a refund from MATRADE. In addition, employers registered with the HRDC will also qualify for the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) training grant, which will help employers cap training costs.

The theme for this year's conference is Be a Part of the Experience, and is to offer more than 100 breakout sessions and 14 technical tracks, according to the company.

Bring a Friend

Tyson DowdMicrosoft Malaysia senior director, Malaysia software economy, Tyson Dowd (picture), explained that there is also a 'Friend Bring Friend' promotion where participants can earn a rebate of RM300 (US$92) off their conference fees when they introduce a minimum of three friends to register and attend Tech Ed SEA 2008.
