Applications Sulphonated Oil SS Sulfonated oils are anionic surfactants, yellow-brown, red-brown, or brown liquids that are soluble in water. They have properties like wetting and lubrication, as well as emulsifying. Sulfonated oils SS are a new type sulfonated fatliquoring materials prepared from natural vegetable oil by sulfur trioxide membrane sulfonation. It can either be fatliquored on its own or combined with other fatliquors. It can make leather feel soft and plump, is compatible with many other fatliquors, and can also be mixed to create new types of leather fatliquor. The sulfonated SS oil has a high permeability. After fat is added, leather becomes soft, plump and oily. It will not migrate through the leather fibers and will not produce an oily cream or oil spots. It has excellent emulsification, stability, and can improve fatliquoring of fatliquors which have poor emulsification or stability. Its compatibility with other fatliquoring material has made it a popular new material used in leather chemical factories to produce medium and high grade fatliquors. Sulfonated Oil is used widely in the textile, leather, paper and metal processing industries. It is also used for agricultural preparations as an emulsifier.
