Organisations still undecided on adopting the cloud can try a solution that involves less risk while putting the cloud on trial run. This is what RightScale is offering through its RightcSale myCloud management platform.
The software solution is being offered to allow organisations to easily set up a private cloud infrastructure using existing hardware while at the same time try out other cloud services offered by other parties.
RightScale explained that some organisations wanting to eliminate the complexity and time lag in deploying the cloud will find the myCloud solution faster while deriving the same benefits from cloud computing.
Organisations concerned about security, privacy and other IT issues surrounding cloud computing can find some relief in implementing a hybrid cloud setup and myCloud will make hybrid cloud management easier, RightScale explained.
Through RightScale's partnership with infrastructure-as-a-service providers, an organisation can try out a hybrid and private cloud at the same time and the organisation can easily manage both deployments through myCloud.
"RightScale myCloud simplifies the process of deploying a fully managed hybrid cloud infrastructure, dramatically reducing the learning curve and setup effort for private and hybrid cloud computing," a company press statement read. "With myCloud, organisations can set up and test the Eucalyptus or Cloud.com private clouds managed by RightScale and then move them to production alongside public cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services or Rackspace Cloud."
Aside from being easy to set up at little financial and management risks, RightScale said its approach is cost-effective as it uses open source technology.
"RightScale myCloud makes on-premise cloud computing a viable option for all our customers by enabling an easy on-ramp and then offering a path to build out whatever multi-cloud environment they need," said Michael Crandell, CEO, RightScale. "This is our vision for the future of hybrid clouds."
The free version of myCloud is available now through an early access programme and through partners Cloud.com and Eucalyptus. The availability of the standard edition with additional functionality and support will be announced later.
