Ricoh wants to help Malaysian businesses save up to 1M tonnes of steel

Malaysia's corporate, healthcare, education and F&B sectors will especially benefit from these three new green MFP solutions, says Ricoh's Peter Wee.

Digital imaging and printing solutions firm Ricoh has introduced new multifunction printers (MFP) with enhanced 'green' functionalities that include a 'stapeless' stapler in Malaysia.

Peter Wee, chief operating officer for Ricoh Malaysia said the new printing solutions - MP C2003SP & C2503SP, and SG 3120B SFNw - are the latest "eco-friendly Multifunction Printer (MFP) and printers specifically designed to promote more sustainable business practices in the workplace through energy-saving and resource management technologies."

"Today, various industries are seeking a more green and sustainable approach to running businesses without affecting its efficiency," said Wee. "At Ricoh, it is our aim to provide the best office and business solutions, and the MP C2003SP & C2503SP excel in this area, making these ideal assets to the corporate, medical, education, and F&B industry in Malaysia."

He said the "breakthrough in MFP technology is their in-built 'Stapleless' Stapler function, which helps businesses to not only save more than 1,000,000 tonnes of steel, but millions of ringgit and resources annually, as it is able to bind up to five pages without the need of a staple, minimising the risk of scratches to users as well as the glass platen when scanning a document."

Both the MP C2003SP & C2503SP, regarded as the 'new generation flagship A3 colour MFP,' were designed to increase office effectiveness in an environmentally responsible manner, added Wee.

He said both models have a customisable home screen that will help monitor how much paper has been have saved via the GW+ controller. "In addition, the Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) values of these devices are among the lowest in the sector; with power consumption during sleep mode being the least for products of their like in the industry."

 Friendly to surroundings

Wee said the warm-up time of 19 seconds, printing speeds of up to 25 pages per minutes will help enhance productivity and save time.  Other features include a new 9-inch Touch Panel, an optional built-in Smart Card reader unit, ID Card Copy and Searchable PDF.

"The ideations behind the products developed at Ricoh are always designed to reassure users that the services and products offered provide outstanding quality output that is friendly to our surroundings," he said. "The MP C2003SP & C2503SP are the perfect testament to our efforts in doing so: consistently lowering its impact through proper quota settings, adjustable power on and off settings, as well as minimising power consumptions."

Both the MP C2003SP & C2503SP allow cloud service integration, said Wee. "This new model also features Scan-to-smart device capability, which allows scanned data from the printer to be sent to smart devices."

Meanwhile, the company's third unveiled solution - SG 3120B SFw - was also the first-in-the-market battery-driven Geljet 4-in-1 Multifunction Printer (MFP) - the SG 3120B SFNw, he said.

"One of the interesting features of the new SG 3120B SFNw is its ability to switch automatically from AC to battery, without disrupting the printing process, making it an ideal device for public facilities or outdoor events that are challenged by the lack of power supply or power outage," said Wee.

"The charge allows up to 1,000 pages of water resistant printouts, while the SG 3120B SFw comes with an optional spare battery and battery charger to prolong its usage," said Wee. "It is equipped with a USB port to charge smart devices and an Energy Demand management function, enabling more efficient power management."
