Caroline Ng | May 7, 2013
Akamai has named two new executives, Micheal McCollough and Steven Yang, to lead its expansion in Asia Pacific.

Cloud and software provider, Akamai, has created two new roles in a bid to expand its operations in the Asia Pacific region.

Micheal McCollough takes on the role as the new regional vice president, channels and alliances for Asia Pacific and Japan while Steven Yang will be the new regional vice president, North Asia.

McCollough and Yang will be based in Singapore and Hong Kong respectively. Both were previously in senior leadership positions.

Sanjay Singh, senior vice president and general manager at Akamai Asia Pacific and Japan, said the creation of new executive roles is fundamental in hitting growth targets in the region.

"Likewise, these markets in North Asia are critical to our success, and with Michael and Steven, we are confident that will continue to accelerate our momentum in Asia Pacific," he said.

All appointments have taken effect since the beginning of this year.
