The Moollaa Commission Calculator app is designed to be a 'one-stop monitoring shop' for sales professionals looking to track performance, commissions, and income.

According to app developer, Andrew Wiltshire, who runs the project alone, Moollaa can cater for almost all sales compensation plans across every industry so long as it consists of a base wage, commissions, quotas, ramps, accelerators or bonuses.

The first thing users will notice is the app's very basic layout and design scheme. This keeps Moollaa simple to use, and leaves its features visible; it isn't the most attractive product, but works as intended.

Once launched, the Settings tab appears by default where users can set up their compensation plan. This only needs to be done once in order to track quarterly and annual performance. There is the option of naming plans which is useful if the app is required for multiple plans.

The Calculator and Summary tabs do as their names suggest. The former serves as a means of not only tracking current progress and commission, but allows users to generate predictions with some tinkering. The Summary page offers a quick overview of annual sales, quota, performance, base pay, commission, bonus, and gross income.

Moollaa stores all inputted information locally on the user's device, and the app is protected by a four-digit PIN (if this option is turned on in the settings). The small $0.99 price tag of Moollaa is justified by not only its straightforward yet feature-filled functionality, but also its contribution to charity; 30 per cent of all proceeds are donated to the Melanoma Institute of Australia.

Moollaa is available via Google Play for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS. According to the app's web site, a Blackberry version is coming soon.
