Brother launches two new multi-function centres in Malaysia

Digital imaging and printing solutions provider Brother International Malaysia has released two new series of its multi-function centres (MFCs) with features that include a 3D augmented reality application.

"The two new multi-function centre (MFC) series spanning the large A3 series to the ultra-compact A4 series is aimed at maximising users' experience through its high quality and comprehensive print, scan, fax and copy functions with automatic duplex (double-sided printing capability), that guarantees reductions in paper usage for a greener organisation and environment as well as more cost savings and greater efficiency," said Brother International Malaysia managing director, Yoshiaki Otsuka, in late December last year.

Otsuka said the A4-printing MFCs (MFC-J430W, MFC-J625DW and MFC-J825DW) allow connecting, printing and sharing information across popular Internet and social networking sites via the latest Cloud Printing function. "While those who have bigger printing needs can use the A3 MFCs (MFC-J5910DW, MFC-J6510DW and MFC-J6910DW), which have proven to be a hit in the small office and home office (SOHO) sector as well as small and medium businesses (SMBs) around the world."

Brother International Malaysia head, marketing division, Lily Siow, said: "Brother printers are ideally designed for any home, small or home offices. Featuring the innovative Cloud Printing function for the first time in the MFC-J825DW model, Brother is constantly improving and introducing new technology into our products to enable consumers to experience convenience and efficiency even at homes and offices."

Siow said the company also introduced its 3D mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application, downloadable onto any iPhone or iPad device, "This allows users to experience each of the key features of Brother's colour inkjet machines, the MFC-J430W, MFC-J625DW, and MFC-J825DW.  By installing the free "Brother AR" app, people can take a picture of the product from printed materials such as advertisements or brochures and get to view the full capabilities as a 3D projection from their iPhone or iPad."

"In our line of business, it is not just important to be innovative with our product offerings but to be also creative with the means that we market them to consumers," said Otsuka. "Customers today are much more technologically savvy and receptive to information, even while they are on the go. With this app, customers can not only get a three-dimensional and 360 degree view of the product but watch it perform various functions such as print and scan with just a few taps, taking the customer experience to a whole new level."
