Chinese ICT products and solutions giant Huawei has appointed Malaysian IT distributor Ingram Micro as the newest authorised distributor of mobile broadband and home devices in Malaysia.

Gary Xu, Huawei Technologies Malaysia's country director (Consumer Business Group), said this New Year partnership follows the opening of several new stores and product announcements during 2014 in Malaysia.

"At Huawei, we place very high importance on developing a network of trusted partners who share our view of communications technology as an enabler," said Xu. "Our channel networks have proven to be our core assets in strengthening our reach in each market that we operate in."

"With our shared passion for making connectivity possible for everyone, I am confident that our partnership with Ingram Micro will be a very successful one," he said.

Ingram Micro Malaysia managing director BY Tay said: "Huawei's story as one of the world's most successful communications and connectivity companies is inspirational. With its wide range of devices, solutions, and services, both as a network backbone and a consumer devices and home broadband manufacturer, they are a perfect partner in our endeavour to fulfil the promise of technology to consumers and businesses through our network of supply chain services."

Devices that will be distributed through Ingram Micro include the entire spectrum of low- to high-end home mobile broadband routers, Huawei 7" tablet MediaPad X1, and its wearable device, Talkband B1.
