KUALA LUMPUR, 15 JUNE 2011 - The Malaysian national ICT industry association PIKOM will launch an ICT mall, called PIKOM ICT MALL @CapSquare, which will set the benchmark for digital malls, it said.
As a result of a partnership with Capital Square (CapSquare), owners of the CapSquare Centre retail complex in Kuala Lumpur, PIKOM intends to offer a complete range of ICT products with its member as exclusive tenants, according to PIKOM chairman Wei Chuan Beng.
"A total of 84,299 sq ft of retail space has been set aside for PIKOM's members to occupy and attractive rental rates have already been negotiated with CapSquare, a subsidiary of Bandar Raya Developments Berhad [BRDB]," said Wei. "In remaining a part of the integrated CapSquare neighbourhood, the mall will retain many of its previous services and F&B tenants."
"The four-storey PIKOM ICT Mall is scheduled to be launched this September and will offer a complete range of ICT products and consumers can expect the best deals and bargains when shopping there," he said. "The new mall will set the standards for digital malls in the country."
"From tablet PCs to notebooks, PC products and peripherals, broadband products and media players to GPS products and Internet TV players, the PIKOM ICT Mall will carry the widest and latest choice of ICT products and gadgets," Wei said. "We want the mall to become the 'must visit, must shop there' and most vibrant ICT mall in Malaysia."
Wei said this was the first time in PIKOM's 25-year history that it is creating an ICT mall and he is optimistic that at least 300 of its members will sign up as tenants for either retail space or kiosk lots.
