A new partnership between Malaysian Internet firm MOL Global and global airtime remittance hub TransferTo, which is an Ingenico company, will deliver an international prepaid mobile top-up service.
Speaking on 12 January 2012, MOL Global group chief executive officer Ganesh Bangah Kumar said the wholly owned subsidiary MOL AccessPortal has signed with TransferTo, an Ingenico Company and global airtime remittance hub, that interconnects the mobile operator's prepaid systems, to deliver international top-up services with MOLPoints.
Kumar said that MOL users could use MOLPoints, a virtual currency used in the Asian region to acquire online credits and digital goods, could purchase mobile credits via TransferTo's top-up system at more than 19,700 physical payment channels, nationwide.
"This is exciting news for our Malaysian users as they are able to reload mobile credits for their families, friends and colleagues, anywhere in the world with MOLPoints," said TransferTo chief executive officer and managing director, Eric Barbier.
