German vendor partners with mobile operators to assist typhoon-devastated Filipinos

In the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, the strongest ever  to hit the Philippines-and the strongest ever recorded in the world-SAP AG was there to assists its victims by way of its SAP Mobile Services technology.

A press statement by the German vendor of enterprise systems solutions said it stepped in by providing its technology to facilitate SMS communications by Filipino victims with relatives and friends overseas.

"From November 11 through November 25, the international messages that were delivered through SAP Mobile Services' interconnection network were at no cost for subscribers from Globe Telecom, Smart Communications, and Sun Cellular," the statement said.

This enabled millions of typhoon-devastated Filipinos to communicate with relatives and friends in foreign countries.
