Pencil Banner is Malaysia's celebrity cut of eBay, says supermodel Amber Chia

The online platform, where local and international celebrities recommend lifestyle items, capitalises on the fast-increasing popularity of ecommerce in Malaysia.

A new Malaysian online celebrity platform promises exclusive access to local and international celebrities' lifestyle, fashion and gadget recommendations while auctioning their own personal items, according to founder supermodel Amber Chia.

Chia said '' is the first celebrity version of eBay in the country and is hosted on Malaysian hosting provider Exabytes Network (Exabytes) ecommerce platform Easy dot my.

"This is an online platform where local and international celebrities to put their loved and secondhand authentic fashion items on sale," she said. "In addition, this celebrities' boutique will also feature exclusive brand new items that celebrities have in mind to recommend and share with their fans."   

"Every item sold through the platform comes with a card printed with the celebrity's self digital autograph and 'thank you' note," said Chia. "For starters, we have successfully signed on a few local celebrities to participate and reach out to the online market. Moving forward, we are planning to feature items from international celebrities as well."

She said putting the new venture online would give ready access to celebrity fashion, lifestyles and trends.  "Ecommerce is growing popular with more Malaysians going online to shop anytime and anywhere."

"In addition, the new platform serves as a bridge to build a closer relationship between the celebrities, their fans and followers," said Chia. "It is a wonderful opportunity for them to obtain prominent celebrity-style fashions by just a click away."
Also present at the launch, Exabytes chief executive officer, Chan Kee Siak, said:"Over the recent nine months, platform has performed exceptionally well with doubled growth in transaction value. This has also exemplified the strong trend of Malaysia ecommerce activities. "
