Telekom Malaysia (TM) has announced a new graphical user interface (GUI) to its IPTV service called HyppTV, which recently picked up the Best Online TV or Solution award at the TV Connect Industry Awards in London.

"This latest enhancement by HyppTV will improve our customers' viewing experience," said HyppTV's executive vice president of new media, TM, Jeremy Kung. "With the unique and appealing GUI, subscribers will not only experience a fresh look and feel on the platform but also a new programme timeline feature, the first time ever on HyppTV. This feature is particularly useful for HyppTV viewers who constantly use the Catch-up and Time Shift TV functions as it enables them to view the programming timeline easily, making it more convenient to catch their favourite programme anytime they wish to, in line with HyppTV's tagline of Primetime, Anytime and Everytime."

"The programme timeline displays the programme duration, indicating whether a particular show has just started or is nearing the end," said Kung. "By using the programme guide on the platform, it not only indicates the duration of the show currently on air, but also includes seven-day programme information that could be scrolled by date."
He said that for the VOD [video on demand] and Interactive channels, HyppTV has given it a more visually-oriented layout. "The VOD and Interactive search function for all its library titles is now more visible so you can now catch the movie title of your choice or interactive applications on the channels easily with this new and improved layout."
HyppTV offers 107 channels with 20 channels in High Definition (HD) - consisting of 72 premium linear channels, 15 video-on-demand (VOD) genres and 20 interactive channels.
