Software solutions maker CA Technologies recently donated to a Singapore-based non-profit organisation that is focused on helping underprivileged children.
CA Technologies said it donated S$30,000 (US$23,700) to Mainly I Love Kids (MILK) Fund which reaches out to low-income kids in Singapore and abroad.
The US company said it is also encouraging its employees in Singapore to contribute their time to help in MILK Fund's activities as part of the company's global community relations programme dubbed CA Together in Action. This year marks the sixth year of the programme which runs globally up to this month.
"CA Technologies has a long history of giving back to the communities where our employees live and work," said Lionel Lim, president, Asia Pacific, CA Technologies. "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with MILK and have been heartened by the strong outpouring of support from our employees, who are looking forward to working with the children. Our goal is to help ensure that no one's talent and potential is limited because of their economic or societal disadvantages."
The donation of CA Technologies will particularly benefit MILK Fund's Beyond Social Services' LIFE (Learning is Fun & Exciting) programme, a literacy programme for disadvantaged kids without basic education foundation.
"We are happy to be the beneficiary for CA Technologies' generous donation in conjunction with the opening of their new office in Singapore. This donation, together with the involvement of their staff, will certainly make a difference to the children benefiting from the LIFE programme," said Dr. Sheryn Mah, president, MILK.
Established in 2004, the MILK Fund has already touched the lives of almost 20,000 children worldwide.
