Chairman re-appointed for HK Productivity Council

Clement Chen Cheng-jen re-appointed for two years to key manufacturing role.

SINGAPORE, 30 MARCH 2011 - Clement Chen Cheng-jen was first appointed Chairman of the HKPC in July 2009 and will take up his re-appopintment from 1 July, 2011.

The HKPC was established in 1967 to promote increased productivity by providing integrated support to innovative and growth-oriented Hong Kong firms across the value chain.

The Council's main sectoral focus is manufacturing, particularly in Hong Kong's foundation industries, and related service activities. Its main geographical focus is Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. 
Valuable contribution continues

"Mr Chen has made a valuable contribution to the work of the HKPC since taking up the chairmanship 21 months ago," a government spokesman said. "He has led the Council in further strengthening the support for local industry to meet market demands and seize opportunities from the developments in the Mainland.

"He has also made strenuous efforts to enhance the administration and governance of the public organisation to meet public aspirations.

"We look forward to his continuous leadership in helping HKPC grow from strength to strength," the government spokesman said."
